What about the outside?

Should I remove the huge FX4 sticker and the Lariat stripe for a crisper look? Just want your advice.

I personally like the clean "no sticker" look.

I had em remove the stickers on my 4x4 XLT at the dealer before I left with it. No regrets.

I have mixed emotions about the stickers. I've seen a couple of trucks that looked GREAT with the stickers and others that I could live without the stickers.....

It's all a personal preference... good luck with your decision.

I have the plain old 4x4 stickers on my truck, wouldn't pay extra for them but they came with the truck and I have no intention on removing them unless they start to peel.

Someone posted here with a good thought on this topic, saying something to the effect that the first thing that makes a truck look "outdated" is the style of stickers that the manufacturer puts on the truck. This makes sense, but I haven't taken them off mine.

If you put on the fx4 sticker on a 2001 then from much more than 10 feet away you have a new truck!

I like mine, they are non-obtrusive, in fact I have had numerous people ask me if it is 4x4 since there are no "4x4" stickers on it.... I just tell them to look closer...

I really like the FX4 stickers on my torreador red SCrew, despite the fact that one side was placed a tiny bit uneven. But I would also probably like a cleaner look, depending on the color of the truck.

Question Hmmmmm

I have a silver '02 FX4 and I think that the decals look pretty sharp with the paint I have. I -may- want to remove them down the road, but they are going to stay for now. I tend to lean more towards stock anyway. Sure, I'll make an appreciable number of mods to make the truck "mine", but I am not going to go crazy with it. I don't race, I just want a reasonable power/torque increase, added convenience, and a few individualized aesthetic touches. My $0.02, the truck will look sharp either way.

Thanks

I really appreciate all the help. Today, i spent too much time staring out the window of my office at my new shining red truck and I have to say that the stickers will stay for now. The only one that is coming off is the dealer's sticker. Down the road, I might change the entire look and cut the stickers then. Thanks again.

Yager-Miester,

Hell, I thought that's what FX4 meant, FourX4??? Am I right or is there more to it that that?

Bigworm, If you are asking for my opinion, then keep the stickers 'cause I think they're sharp myself. My $0.02

I plan on taking the stripe off, the Lariat sticker, and the 4x4 sticker. Then once I do that, since I own my own sign company, I'm going to put a new custom stripe on, then towards that rear of the truck, the stripe turns into flames like the HD truck. Then probably make a custom 4x4 sticker. What do ya think? cool huh!

Heaven forbid you should take it off-road and get fine scratches on it . When you take them off after that then it will stick out where they were . I should mention that paint does fade over time . If you are planning remove them , then the sooner the better . Just my 2 cents worth .

Good luck and enjoy the new ride .
