Love this truck
Hey, I'm the guy who had the problems with the seats. From information on this forum I found one made after 3/02 and found the seats much more comfortable.
Bought a 2002 5.4L on a Wednesday. On Saturday loaded up the three kids (7,5,1), wife, tents, coolers, chairs, stove, clothes and headed for Huntington Lake about 7000' up in the Sierras. Camped and fished (the 7 and 5 year old caught their first ones, lots of excitement) for three days then headed north to Yosemite for 2 days. Drove over Tioga Pass at 9900' and down the eastern Sierra on 395 to home. 1200 miles in 6 days.
The SuperCrew was superb. Smooth ride, quiet ride, comfortable ride. It did everything we wanted it for when we decided to buy it. And for those who debate over whether they really need a 5.4L...I'm one of those guys who debated it myself. It was going to be used for solo commuting most days so I told myself maybe I should get the smaller engine and save some gas. I'm glad I bought the big engine. This is a big truck, get a big engine to go with it, you won't regret it.
Now I'm looking for some step bars to help the kids get in easier. Thanks to everyone at F150online for helping me.
