Also, specs on the Screw say bed length 5'6", that is 66" and the bed height is 20", so you got 86-88" to the end of the tailgate (a couple of inches for the gap). Wheelbase of the Road King is 63.5 plus half of the 16" diameter wheel makes 71.5 inches... that should put the rear wheel smack in the middle of the tailgate......
You are very close but 16" is the wheel diameter....add afew more inches for the tire. Let's say rear wheel center is at 75 inches which is maybe even beyond the center of the tailgate if you aren't tight against the headboard....just eight or ten inches from the end if you leave the frond wheel a few inches shy of the headboard which you could otherwise also damage. I would not even consider doing this without a full length steel channel or something running the length of the bed and extending out over the tailgate. I can tell you that based on my experience (I have been the engineer on a few tailgate projects) no tailgate is designed for that load in such a concentrated area as a motorcycle tire.

You're right, it probably is...but I also have a SCrew (look in my sig) which is the truck that I was referring to.

Well, I have a FatBoy on order, which is 1" longer in wheelbase.. so it's trailer time.....

True can always ride it... just wondering if it'll fit... have you ever loaded yours in the KR?

Hey, I was wondering if you were the same logical as on the Harley board.

same guy.....what is your name there?, no never tried to load it....If I ever really needed to take it somewhere in the dead of winter I'd definately trailer it, not load it.
