I have never had the door panel off.
Do the speakers not cover or seal completely to the door ?
Is the door panel speaker opening larger than the space actually needed for the speaker ?
Open element speaker ?
I get that the door is not in a vaccum but I thought the speakers would seal to the door and as the cones move use the door space as a chamber...Its just that the all the door handles exibit the cooling effect.
I wonder when the heat is on will any ice or snow on the door handle will melt ? Lets see..2003 F150 ..new...improved..heated door skins..the ice and snow melt away.
Oh well I had enough..info overload. Thanks for the replies.

There are more holes in the door besides the Speaker. You would never be able to adjust the window, replace the motor, without other holes. Therefore there are other places for the air to get throught the door and out of the door handles (or any place that is not sealed). All cars/trucks do it.
If the car/truck was air tight you would have a hell of a time shutting the door. The doors would have to be sliding to be able to shut.
If you do not like the fact air comes out of the door handles turn your A/C to MAX.
