I have the Lightning front end conversion on my truck. I do not have the light switch that pulls out to turn on the fog lights. I ordered it and it should be in tommorrow. My question is all I have to do is unplug one and plug up the new one? Any help would be appericated.

 

That should work if you have the fogs wired into the factory harnesses. I had the dealer install mine and they had to order the different switch to get them to work.

 

If you're wanting to modify your fogs so that the parks and fogs will be on at the same time, NO. You will have to modify the switch further to achieve this goal.

I'm 99.9% sure that, even though you didn't start with the fog lights on the truck, that it's pre-wired for the fog controls in the cab by simply replacing the switch. I'd follow up with someone on here that has added the Lightning front end that didn't have fogs prior to confirm this though.... that or call your dealership (I'd show up in person so that you can actually look at the schematics).

I have the L factory fog lights installed and they pluged right into the factory wiring harness. So maybe Lightingcrew the switch will just plug in. I did not have the Lariat package so my current switch will not pull out to turn on the fog lights.
I do not care about the parking and fog lights on at the same time. I just want the fog lights to come on. As it stands right now they are "just for show" the way thery are.

Unfortunately the 4X4 is the only one with the factory switch for fogs - I have a Lariat and the dealer still had to change the switch out. But if you connected the fogs to the factory wiring, it should just plug right up. As far as the mod goes, I would highly recommend it. Not only does it allow you to use your fogs with parking lights and the auto light features, but it also allows you to use the fogs and the brights together - if you just "plug and play", there is an auto cutoff on the fogs whenever you turn on the brights. I did this mod probably a year ago and have not had any problems. Good luck!!
