Lightbulb Power source for tonneau cover light??

I have an A.R.E. LSII series tonneau cover on my 2002 SuperCrew and would like to add a light inside the cover. Is there an easily accessible 12 volt source that is commonly used for lighting inside topper and tonneau covers??

Lightbulb What I did....

I have the same ARE Lid, and I bought a 2-pak of battery operated flourescent lights from Target for $9.99...

They are about 4" long, run on 4-AA batteries, and even came with the velcro to add them to the truck. I attached them inside the tailgate, on either side of the bed... works great!!

Power to bed

Not without drilling. Had to drill holes for my power.

I have a couple of the "tap light" type of battery powered lights stuck with double back tape on the sides of the bed under my tonneau. I was going to wire a light in but considered the fact that it would drain the battery if left on accidentally over night or for an extended period when the truck was not in use. I know there is a battery saver function built in but didn't wish to test this function. just my 2 cents.

May seem odd, but I used the trailer wiring for my light. I just bought the end that goes into the trailer jack and wired it up to a light. I did drill holes, but could have run the wire longer and come through some rubber gromets at the front of the bed.

I ran a wire from under the hood, not the easiest, but it works. I also did not drill holes. I ran the wire through the holes between teh tailgate and the bed. There are several on teh side along the taillights. Be sure to add grommets to eliminate chafing. I laso used self adhesive wire clips to hold the wire to the side. Once in teh box, I added a single pole-double throw toggle so I could either have the lights on or use a lighter powe outlet I added. Looks pretty good and is very functional.
