Maybe I live under a rock, forgive me. What is a Sirius? Is that XM radio stuff or what?

I'm not sure either.... it does look like an XM antenna. *shrugs*

BigEd... I know I've told you 10 times now but, that's a sweet truck man! IMHO, one of the top three on the f150 boards.

Sirius have a monthly cost similar to XM? If so, and you don't mind me asking, how much for service?

THANKS ED!

Looks like the diffrence between the 2 is that Sirus is commerical free and acording to there website cost $12.95 a month plus equipment.

XM radio (who advertises a lot more) is NOT commercial free (as far as I can tell) but only cost $9.99 a month.

Both offer music and talk and 100 channels each. But I would pay $3 more a month for no commecials without hesitation.

I will wait and see if they stay in business in this economy before plunging into the satilite radio. I love the idea but they have to make money to stay alive.

That's been one of my hesitations dcovell. I'm just not sure that the satilitte providers will make it (especially in this economy). I cringe to think that I might toss upwards of $500 towards an XM or SIRIUS system and it not be worth a squat in two years if they went under.

Just a fear of mine.

I love the idea of commercial free music or talk or comedy or sports at the push of a button anywhere.

The concept is a hit with me. I just hope that it takes off and that it's available for years to come.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy either system. I have XM at work and it's great, some of the channels are commercial-free and some are not. My guess is that if one of these companies gets into trouble, the other will absorb it and hopefully we'll be able to use the same equipment. The cost for our system was about $300.00, we didn't look into Sirius, a buddy of mine is a XM dealer and I threw him the business.

XM Radio has 40 - Commercial Free Stations and 60 with commercials (probably not as many as FM Stations) ........

the install was pretty straight forward with the kenwood all you have to do is connect the sirius module to the c/d changer input and power, ground, antennae and that is it when you call for service they activate you in about 10 seconds and you are up and running hope this helps
thanks
