I got EGR on the Expi and a Bug DeflectorII on the SCrew. The EGR was harder to install but other than that they are pretty much identical. Both are easy to clean behind. I probably would have gotten another BD II but the EGR was a freebie. I believe they were asking $75 for it. The BD II was like $30 at Pep Boys.

Here's the Bug Deflector II

Haven't had any problems with the BD II. It's been on for Several months now.

Edit, alright, I take that back, I went out and took a closer look cause I haven't looked at it for a while, and yes it is rubbing against the paint on the lower section that the hood closes onto (not on the hood). Gonna have to figure something out to stop that. The EGR on the Expi shows no signs of rubbing.

If you're looking at Lund take a look at the Trident. I have had mine for over a year and love it. It is stiff and stands away from the hood nicely and wraps around the fenders.

I got my EGR from Cap World. They are a bed cover dealer, but they have a few other accessories there too. I would assume you can get them at most accessory stores or catalogs. It wasn't something I had planned on getting so I didn't do any research on it.

LakeSands,

Question for you on the Trident. Does it really re-direct the wind OVER your winshield? I think I remember reading that somewhere. I used to have the LUND Interceptor, great shield, but, I still seemed to get a LOT of bugs. I dont think it redirected or protected the winshield enough.

Also, how was the install? Did you need to drill any holes or use the pre-existing ones? 3M tape maybe?

TIA,

Jim

P.S. Man I really gotta update my pics.... LOL

I thought this was one of the brands that JC Witney carried.
At least that is where I think one member got his, when this topic came up earlier in the summer.

If you don't like JC Witney, using Google, I searched on EGR Bug and got several web sites that carry them:
www.truckstuffusa.com
www.truckaddons.com/
www.seffects.com
www.bestdarnparts.com
www.truckaccessorystore.com
www.trucknvans.com/
www.detailshop.com

I don't ever recall ordering from any of these, so use you own judgement on if they are worth giving your money to.
The fall back...you can always go to a local cap dealer, as they always seem to have them as well.
I also did a weather tech, but then again I live about 5 min from them, so I can just pick it up.

Has anyone added a Stampede bug deflector? I was looking at one at a shop and it seemed pretty thick. Doesn't use bumpers or tape and mounts using stainless steel screws. $60...

Spook

I'm interested in a WeatherTech for my SC as well. Do they have a logo sticker on the shield that can be removed or is it etched in the material? Thanks and this will get you to their website:
