Stainless Tips for S'Crew

Okay, now that I have on my new Flowmaster Catback - dual rear exit - I want to put tips on. Anyone have pics?

My problems is this: If I put on a 6" tip, it would look stupid from the side... you can see the pipe, then the tip. How long of a tip should I get?

I saw a Gibson 12" Stainless Tip (2 1/2 in, 3" out) with a screw on application... but it said Gibson on it. I don't want it to say anything.

Anywhooo... suggestions? Applications? I posted this in the exhaust forum, but I'd like to get some ideas from S'crew owners. I'm definately gonna get stainless... and I like the slash cut, but I'd like to get some feedback and pics (if anyone has any).

Thanks a bunch, guys... and gals.

Try Ravin Tips...

Ravin has the T-304 Muffler Tips.
I don't think these have the name ravin on them, and go up to 24" in length.

http://www.goravin.com.

I recall seeing these on a memebers truck, I have the Gibson printed on mine, with the supertruck, so I can not directly comment on how well they stand up.

Is the ole man still going to make you wait on your new top and FPIK? Maybe you shoudl sweet talk him into at least letting you get the FPIK this year still.

Then the MAF and electric fans can wait until next year.
( the Flex-aLite 270 should be in stock every where by then ).

Cool. But how do they fit on? I can't see clamping them, do I have to get a shop to weld them? Do I need special hangers? Won't the weight of them snap 'em off?

So many questions...

Uh.... what's a MAF and electric fan? I didn't know that I wanted one.

I'm getting a Retrax next year.

I'd love to lift it too... after seeing a post of someone else's screw lifted....

Jenn,

They look to be clamp or weld on from what the web site looks like. I did not see a set screw or anything..will have to wait and see if a Ravin tip owner replies ( or you can drop an email to Ravin, and ask ??? ).
I have seen people slide these over the pipe ( don't know if it was this brand or not ) and use the pipe to hang them on.
Another guess, but I don't know what mfgr you will get, is to go by a muffler shop. The wife's dad got his at the place that made his SI/DO exhst, they did it right there.

Sorry about that....
MAF MAss Air Flow sensor.
I notice a marked improvement in throttle resp. after putting in the GMS MAF. I think the other option is to go with the L MAF, which I think is a 90mm. Ask around if you are interested in engine mods, maybe some with L MAF on can give you an idea. Best bet would be to find someone who tried both, but not for me, if the L MAF is better I think I just chucked ~ $375.00 down the toilet.

Electric Fans
I ordered ( won't be in at Summit until 28-JUN ) the Flex-a-lite dual fan kit for the F150. Takes the fan off of the front of the motor, have seen threads where the motor revs up quicker due to the missing mass on the front of the motor. Lots of L owners have done this in conjunction with the Cobra Water pump, and a 4# lower pulley to add HP to the beast.
Try a search under Electric Fans ( need the plural of fan to pass min word length ), see what is up with it, and if it even fits your taste.

Maybe you are just a little more sane then me when it comes to mods on your SCREW.
To date :
K&N FPIK
Gibson Super Truck exhst
GMS MAF.
Helwig rear anti sway bar
Autometer Vacuum gauge
Infinity Perfect T tweeters with cross over mounted in door panel.
Pro Fit Cell phone holder.
Standard Vannila Exterior apperance mods.

On Order:
Flex-a-lite electric Fans
Bilstein Shocks for front and rear.

I can understand why you won't want to try the lift after that post ( mpg is always a fight when doing mods ), and your 4x4 sits nice as it is.
I read through it, but is does not apply to my 2WD SCREW ( vs a 4x4, I need to fit in parking garages, else I would have started with a 4x4, and gone from there ). I did the read just for FYI, and they do look GREAT lifed.

Don't use a goof ball like me for the standard in mods, I do my own thing....just happens to be a little off the wall at times.
That last post on the MAF and electric fans was more so tounge in cheek then serious....or maybe not if you are as goofy as me ( didn't really know either way... ) <g>
The next mod might be a jack up the radator cap and drive a L under it, and start over......
