Jerk/kick when stopping..

I have an 02 4x4 4.6 auto with 3,000 miles...and am i wondering if i have a tranny problem...

Every time I come to a complete stop there is a jerk or kick of some kind, almost like a slip. This does not happen during rolling stops - only at stop lights/ signs, etc., when I have to come to a 'complete' stop.

Any ideas...tranny, brakes?

Chris

My 1999 Ranger does the same thing. Purchased used in January 23000 miles. I took it into the dealer last week and they found nothing wrong with it. No computer codes NADA. I had them check the torque converter also and nothing found. I still don't like it, and my 2000 HD F150 doesn't do it, nor did any of my other F150's. For now I am going to live with it until I can get it to a transmission place that I trust to check it out. If you find out anything let me know.

in general non mechanical terms (i'm not a mechanic) the slip yoke connects the tranny to the driveshaft...
