Thumbs up New SCREW owner

Just wanted to tell all y'all, I am the prowd new owner of a 2001 4x4 SCREW...It only has 31,500 miles....I purchased it for around 22,000....what a steal!!!!

Loaded out with the exception of leather and sunroof....I am real glad that I am able to find a forum to discuss concerns and praise over my truck.

After reading and researching some of the posts....I agree that the stock speakers suck...I do have some window leakage....there is a little bit of a rough idle....

What other things should i be looking for....I will be taking my vehicle to the stealership to argue and bicker to get anything fixed before the warranty runs out....... Oh yeah, just wanted opinions on getting an extended warranty???

Thanks for the replies,

Ben

Extended Warranties

I got mine from Warranty Direct. It has a website that can give you a quote. There are also several other warranty companies out there on the net if you want to check them out. Many of them are listed at Jeff Ostrow's carbuyingtips.com website.

WELCOME TO THE SCREW CLAN. I'm anti extended warranty (they're just too damn expensive the way they make vehicles these days) but, I haven't ruled one out on mine come around 33k miles.

RockPick,
My thoughts exactly........I purchased an extended warranty on my last vehicle for $1,200.....over the extended period, only the CV boot went out....$200. So in reality I spent $1,000 for nothing... But like you said I am still debating on getting one.....

CarolinaTobacco & Lawgrrl ,
welcome to the boards ...
the only warrenty issue I've had is a shaky drivers side mirror.
and the heavy duty radiator I had replaced , but you are a bit late for that deal.
good luck & see ya around

For Extended Warranty...

Do a search on "ESP" or "Gene Louder". Gene is a salesman at a dealership in Texas who sells the FORD ESP plans at $50 over his cost. I think my 6yr/75K mile Premium care (top of the line) was $985 or so. I haven't found anyone who sells the FORD warranty cheaper. If you know of anyone who does, feel free to share that information!
