I was confident that it would look good but I didn't think it would look this good! The solid black Retrax on my sold black Screw looks fantastic. Check out the pictures in my photo gallery (see the link below).

EXTINGUISHFIRE, I lost your email address again! I don't know what the deal is with the message board. It let's you THINK you've sent another user an email but it doesn't. Contact me at gotvx@hotmail.com if you still want to come by and see it in person.

Wow it looks great

Grish, it looks awesome. If my budget was a little bigger I think I would have gone with the retrax. it seems that most of the posts I've seen about it are pretty positive.

I'm going with the Downey SST Soft Tonnaue. I hope to have it soon. Will post pics as soon as I install it.

That really looks good. Your pictures sold it for me, I have decided to get the same thing. Thanks for posting them. Do you have a bedrug underneath? Just curious.

The only thing I didn't like was the Retrax logo, I wonder if it can be taken off?

Does anyone know the best place to order these with shipping?
Or where to go in the Portland, OR area to buy it?

Thanks,
Ryan

my install

Ryan,
Just FYI: I ordered mine directly from Retrax. I find it unlikely that you'll find one just "on the shelf" at some local custom parts store.

I don't have a bed rug, but instead I have Line-X. The clamps that hold the retrax in place fasten to the inside of the bed rail. Your bed rug or Line-X product won't interfere.

As far as the installation goes: I had more questions about the gate gasket than I did about the Retrax product itself! Jim at Retrax was very helpful.

I think that the Retrax logo can be taken off. It looks likes it's just glued on. I haven't tried yet. I'm also considering just using some glossy black model paint to paint over the plastic logo.

/Marcus

Ryan,

I ordered both of my Retrax covers from a Retrax sales guy named Joe Oliver. He is a member over at ford-diesel.com, and is usually running a special for covers for FORD trucks. You can email him at retraxmn@attbi.com or call him at 612-802-4157. Otherwise, you can call their corporate offices at 800-206-4070 and see if they have any dealers in your area (or order direct from them).

Just an FYI - Joe was cheaper than ordering direct both times for me.

HTH

Edit for Ryan: HTH = Hope That Helps, not my name

Talking

Apparently I'm one of the lucky ones!!! I drove over to the Retrax manufacture here in Grand Forks ND and had them install it! Didn't have to worry about shipping or installing it wrong.

Retrax price

I've been shopping around and there is a dealer in Colorado selling it for $889, delivered.

Here's the website:

http://www.davestonneaucovers.com./

I haven't ordered one from them yet, but intend to unless I can find a better deal. I've been looking for quite a while now, though, so these guys will probably be getting my business.

Hey Montinore...

You might give Joe a call (details in my previous post). I don't know if pricing for the SuperDuty vs SuperCrew cover is an "apples to apples" comparison, but I paid less than that for each of my covers (one was $858 delievered, and the other $848 delivered). May be worth checking.

Thanks Jeff

Thanks for the heads-up.

I've sent Joe an e-mail to see if he can match the price you quoted. I'm anxious to get my hands on a Retrax!

Thanks,
Sean

Joe came through for me

The going rate for a Supercrew model is $949 from the dealer in Colorado I listed above (the quote from their website is standard shortbed, not for a SuperCrew bed).

So I took JDMnAR's advice and sent an e-mail to Joe. Get this: Joe is selling me one for $885, delivered.

Supposed to be here in approx. 2 weeks.

Thanks Jeff!
