Totaled 2001 SuperCrew
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Just wanted to mention, do not forget the sales tax on the replacement. The insurance company added the tax to the amount paid but I had to ask for it in the settlement.
Good luck
Good luck
Oh great Gieco Insurance
Finally got the accident report. The bad news is that the company is Geico....the fricken lizard company. She is carrying the minimum, $15,000. So that means my insurance will have to shell oput the difference. The Ford dealership said it would be worth $23,000 on there lot. Trouble is Geico will do the appraisel. Can you say "getting screwed royally"!!

Ironman,
With a new 2001 the your insurance should put you back in the condition you were in pre accident. I.e. in a new truck. My experience was when my Dad's 97 chevy c1500 was stolen--in 2000. The insurance co paid him enough that he was able to get a brand new silverado, loaded like the old one, and it only cost him about $500 out of pocket. Anyhow, your insurance has a duty to take care of you, otherwise they can get hit for bad faith. Tell your insurance co. you want a new truck. Period. If they dont want to give you enough to buy a new one free and clear, tell them you'll get a lawyer. If they still don't budge, make good on your threat. More likely than not though, you won't have to do any more than ask, this isn't a tough case.

go to the dealer they should be able to tell what is worth with miles. and knowing you need to replace the truck they should be glad to help you a ford dealer that is also play hard ball with insurace if it doesnt sound like a good pay off dont take it i was i an accident a few yaers ago they told me they were going to jve so much i said no wait a week they came back with 2000.00 more i only lost 1000. on truck from what i paid and had it for 2 years 30000 more miles me friend play hard ball and they did the same they want to settle for the less so dont let them screw you.
It is nice to know that if my truck rolled it would look this good!
The cabin seems to be in pretty good shape considering it took almost 5000 pounds on the roof when it rolled or whatever it did.
I do pay more for the gas but feel much safter driving my SCREW. I would never drive a GEO to save some bucks on gas and give up my saftey. Anyone who has kids and is looking for a new truck or car should seriosly look at the SuperCrews. I would say this to anyone with out hesitation from the few pictures of crashes I have seen with the screws.

Well, I finally got everything worked out. The insurance company is paying more for my totaled supercrew than I paid for it. 2 years old with 21,000 miles. Very satisfied and happy. Sorry to see my 2001 supercrew headed to the salvage yard. Was one of the first crews in this area. Anyway, need to get a digital camera. The supercrew looked liked dcovell's on the roof and the passenger side completely caved in. Yes...these trucks are VERY safe!
Just got my new 2002 candy apple red SuperCrew. Nice to be back in one. Had to drive a Mercury Sable for 2 weeks. Sucked!
With the extra cash...going to put a nice stereo system in now. Guess it all works out. Just glad to be here! Thanks for all the comments!
