Power Passenger Captains' Chair??

I bought my S'Crew used in mint cond.A Lariat with captains chairs. But I noticed that the passenger cap't chair has no lumbar or power control, only the driver side. Can that be changed? In 2001 was there a power passenger chair as an option?

Mine is a '02, but on the power option I think it's the same as the '01. When you order power seats, er seat. it's just the drivers. Cheapskates. My Acura and my '66 T-bird both came with power passenger seats as well. I've never seen a Lariat passenger seat that didn't have a lumbar support ****. Maybe there was, but I haven't run across one yet.

Thanks for the info, I just rechecked my passenger seat and there is a big no when it comes to lumbar! My S'Crew was an early build April 2000! I really would like lumbar on the passenger side as well!! I can live without the power controls.
I guess I'll start seaching the junkyards.

MASuperCrew, you must have a generation I seat. I believe they had the folding arm rests. When I started looking at the S'crews in '01, some dealers had the earlier types in stock. I might be mistaken but it seems that the later production cabins dropped the captain chairs w/armrests and raised the center console to serve as a substitute. Someone also mentioned that the earlier rear seats didn't come with head rests, that the factory added them during the production run. My brother's '98 supercab lariat also has a passenger lumbar support. Maybe someone with the same model and year as yours will respond and set things straight.

GenI and GenII are like that, I believe. I have GenII. The folding armrests really suck. They are not only too short, but waaaaay too narrow. Totally worthless. I leave mine up. And to use the console as an armrest, I had my wife make a rectangular pillow -- stuffed pretty tight and covered with some really cool and wild fabric -- that's the same size as the console top. It looks good and works great -- I just toss it in the back when I'm through with it. The 60/40 bench would have been a much better choice for my Gen. I was taken in by the cool look of the capt chair without actually seeing if they were really comfy and practical.

Yeah, I thought they looked great also. I never set in one and by the time I bought my s'crew they were changed out. Sundog 7, that pillow sounds like the perfect remedy for the early seat types.

You are right! My arm rests do fold down. I am 6'6" and they are plenty big for me so I use them all the time because the center console is WAYYY down there like you describe.

The Captains chairs were not my first choice I wanted the 60/40 but when buying used you don't have a choice when '"That" vehicle comes along. I really like them now, they fit me and that center console keeps my BullTerrier off my lap when I drive! In my Ranger the 60/40 bench seat is an invitation for a head rest for him and hes' got a HEAVY head!! 2 Hours of that on your leg really puts the hip and thigh to sleep!
My Lariat S'Crew must be a GEN I truck. I also do not have any markings along the flanks. No Lariat decal, no 4x4 decal, no pinstriping at all. The only way you know visually it is a Lariat is the HoneyComb Grill and inside the leather seats and mats are embossed.
It just makes me recall that fine print on the brochures: "FoMoCo reserves the right to change model specifications without notice or liability to the buyer" here they really do mean it!

Sorry to hear no arm rests! How does Ford get away with that!
So many little changes. I would wager it is regional but the SuperCrews are only built in Kansas as I understand it. That theroy is out the window.
Just think -ours will be more collectible in 10 years becuase of their "quirks"
NICE Red on yours!!
I keep trying to insert the link to my gallery but keep putting up the wrong URL. I'll figure it out someday!

Trade 60/40 Leather seat for buckets,

Is there anyone out there that would be willing to trade my 60/40 leather TAN front seats for the bucket seats with center console? I have a 2001 SCrew.
