ARE Lid Questions
I have an ARE lid for my 02 KR Screw. I was wondering if anyone has the same problems I am having or am I being to picky.
1) How much movement, up and down, do you have when the lid is down and locked?
2) Does your lid rub against the tailgate or side top rails?
Mine does at the corners near and on the tailgate. Since I have the KR It is leaving black marks on the tan rails. does anyone else have this problem or was my installation just done poorly?
Thanks,
Joe

You've had a crappy install. I had the same problems when mine was installed. It is very easy to fix.
To fix the "rubbing" problem, loosen all 4 clamps that hold the cover to the bed (with the cover in the closed position and locked and the tailgate open), and simply slide the cover around a little until you get it straight. Tighten it back down with the clamps when you are satisfied.
The looseness can be fixed by adjusting the rubber bumpers that are present around the perimeter of the bedrails. After you get the bumpers adjusted, you need to then adjust the latching mechanism. This is easily accomplished by loosening some screws and raising or lowering the brackets.
Hope this helps!
