Tranny Oil Change,

I went to change my Tranny Oil this week end and when I dropped the pan off, I found a little plastic object with an "O"Ring on it.
Has any body ever found something like this?

Several have posted a similar finding. I believe I have read that it is a plug that is knocked out when the tranny is first filled. That might not be right, but you should be able to search and find the posts I am referring to .

I recall reading about some guys going to the dealer in a panic about that plug only to have the service guys laugh and toss the plug in the trash...

Gotta admit that finding a piece of plastic rolling around in a transmission pan would freak me out too if I didn't expect it from reading about it here on F150online.

Change question

I'm glad someone brought this subject up. Next question. When does everyone suggest to have the tranny fluid changed for the first time?

According to the '01 Scheduled Maintenance Guide, it's required at 30,000 mile intervals.

Dont forget to drain the converter...Or take it to get it flushed!!!

Go synthetic if you are going to keep the truck...

Excellent time to install that Trans-go shift kit you have always wanted!!!!
