Question Bed Lights and Horns

Those who have covers on your SCrews, have you mounted any lights in the bed? What brand, was it battery or hard wired, and where did you get it and how much?

Also, what horn modifications have you made? The stock one wasn't loud and aggresive enough.

Thanks,

Adam

No cap or lights here, but just a suggestion. If you're looking for a light, don't limit yourself to the autoparts stores. If you got a marine/boating store, look there too. Check out the boating sites and catalogs too. Lots of interesting 12V lights including L.E.D. (hard to find and expensive) are available for boats.

Cap cover lights

acbell, when it warms up here, I'm going to complete this mod. I found some LED lights that will work great. They came from a company that is tricking out PC's (go figure). I'm going to connect them via a fused link and a (shhh..) mercury switch. I'll post pictures when it I complete the mod.

I hadn't thought of the boat idea Dennis, do you have any sights you know of?

I guess only MN-Trap and myself have had this problem around here. Lots of views but no suggestions.

I'll have to look around and see if I have any boating catalogs laying around and check it out for you.

12V lights for boats and RVs for that matter give you a lot more options and many times, they use a lot less power which also translates to less heat. You can even get them in night vision red or blue.

acbell, here is a link to the Lazer Leds I going to use. http://www.glowire.com/Lazer%20LEDs.htm
The really neat thing is that they are really small. I'm going to use 4 of the 3 lamp leds on the side rails. Two per side. I going to use 2 of the 4 led cluster ones on my ARE LSII lid to light up the center of the bed when the lid is open.

Did a quick Google search and came up with a bunch of sites. Seems to be all the rage compared to just a few months ago.

I like the link MN-Trap posted.
