Headlight Adjust and Engine Idles Rough
Headlight Adjust and Engine Idles Rough
Well, I just got the new radiator put in and the wiper recall taken care of. I had also asked them to adjust the headlights down a touch because the low beams were blasting just about every car in front of me due to the tall (but OEM) ride height. I also asked them to check into a rough idle I have been noticing, particularly waiting at stoplights.
They failed to replicate the engine idle and the computer had no error codes, and now the headlights are pointed into the ground about 2 car lengths in front. I was wondering:
1) Can someone let me in on headlight aim adjustment tips and directions?
2) Anyone have a similar rough idle while stopped in (D) ? Any solutions? Aside from other benefits, would adding a chip help the idle? (I probably should also post this in the chip forum, but thought I would check here first).
Thanks in advance….

Can't exactly help you, but I know I've seen some instructions on doing the headlight adjustments in the Electrical forum.
As for the rough idle, lots of talk about it in the Engines forum. Several fixes are talked about.

A good body man (body shop) should be able to solve your headlight woes. I had one take care of mine... perfectly aligned now.
Trust me, it's a booger to try to adjust them yourself. I tried and, being the nit-pickey guy that I am, couldn't get it to suit me and gave up after about 4 hellish hours... It takes someone who knows what he/she is doing (which obviously wasn't me). >

I also have an issue with rough engine idle when stopped in D. Nothing big but still a little iritating. Dealer told me last fall Ford is aware of issue an is working a program fix to download into computer. Last time I checked (Jan) still was not available.
