Anybody out there had any issues with the transmission on these trucks? I just had the 30K mile service and have experienced some shuttering in drive and reverse upon initial acceleration.

I had that happen to me too. It did it at a stop light one day after work about 2 months ago but had no more problems. If you hear anything on that issue from a dealer or anything let me know. But it hasn't done it anymore, so i'm not worried about it unless it happens again.

 

I had mine replaced at 2,100 miles. New factory (not rebuilt).

Had a weird shudder in traffic between 30 and 40 mph. When I took it in, I had one of the "Don't open, call 1-800-...." stickers on the case. The way I understood, Ford instructed the dealer to remove the tranny and send back. Got new one installed after about 6 days. (had a rental from Ford) Never found out what was wrong or what the issue was.....

I know it's different from your problem, but thought you might want to hear a tranny problem.

(no issues since it was replaced - put about 15K miles on it)

 

Not that it is related to Ford but my wife has an Acura 2000TL that was shuddering between 1st and 2nd. The Acura shop foreman and I took it for a spin and he told me my transmission was on it's way out. They are replacing it with a rebuild tranny under warranty. They said since I have 49,800 miles on the car they could not put a new one in. I'm just glad they are replacing considering the warranty will be out by the time the transmission will be in.
