Where to find Snuglid in GA

Does anybody know where to get a snuglid in GA. Preferably in Macon or Atl. If there are none around here then can you order straight from Snuglid? How hard to install? Any help would be appericated.

Southern Eagle,

I did exactly what you asked. Since there were no Snugtop dealers within a hundred miles of me, at least at the time I wanted a lid for my Screw, I called Snugtop and asked them what we could do. They said that in that case they were ship me one straight from the factory, and charge my credit card. The end result was that I was very satisfied. I gave them the paint color code off my truck, and they matched it perfectly. I installed it myself, (needed help with lifting it though). I like the "Snug grip" mounting with no drilling. If I need to use my truck "as a truck" I can take it off in 3 to 5 minutes with someone to help lift it. It has showed no signs of leaking even in heavy rains. Like I said, very satisfied.

Question Hello SM

Glad to hear your success with your new lid. Would love to see some pics when you can. What was the breakdown on the costs for the lid? Actual cost of lid & shipping? How long did it take to arrive?

thanks

Thanks SM,

If you don't mind me asking how much? How did it ship? How was the quality of the shipping?

Thanks

Mister Eagle,

The dealer that put my SnugLid on recommended that I not use the no drilling mount. He said that it raised the lid slightly higher at the front than the standard mount, and that you could see the bed rails at the front. Is this your experience?

I bought my Snuglid in October 2000. Working only from memory, I think the lid itself was around $675 or $685. I ordered the 10.00 optional battery powered interior light, which was a waste of 10.00 in my opinion - it wouldn't light up the inside of a lunchbox. The lid had to be shipped by truck freight, and if I remember right, that was about 60 or 70 bucks, payable to the freight line. There was also an advantage in that no sales tax was charged.

As far as Beastriders comments that the "no drill" installation shows the front of the bed rails, he is right. You can see a tiny portion of the very front of the plastic bed rail caps. However, this concerns me much, much less than drilling holes in my new truck would have.

The only other drawback to the Snuglid, is that the locks seem pretty flimsy. I think I could pry the lid open with a good crowbar in short order. This does not bother me much, and in fact I ride around with it unlocked a good deal of the time.

You will notice that I actually have a couple of negative comments here - minor ones in my opinion. Overall, I would give the Snuglid a grade of A instead of A+, for these reasons. If I were in the market for a new lid now, I would definitely get another Snuglid.

Sorry, no pics available for now.
