GAS MiLEAGE
I posted this in the chip forum but thouhgt some of you might like to hear and or comment
This data was with Aamaco Ultimate 93octane with the super chip
I drove 325.9 miles and it took 17.7 gallons and that works out to
18.4 mpg
other factors
I filled up at the same station and same pump as prior time
nice weather no AC
easy driving with only several stomps on the pedal
florida .... so relatively flat
I am very pleased............ fast when I need it and ecconomical when I want it.... WOW
Oh one other thing....... prior to Chip and using 87octane I used to average 14.5 to 15.8mpg

Mike,
Good news for you.......I, on the other hand have had an imediate decrease in MPG since installing the chip. I like the chip and the improvements it makes in shifting and power but I went from a fairly steady 15 MPG to what is beginning to look like 11.7 MPG. I went from using 87 to using 93. don't really stomp on it and drive pretty much the same routes all the time. Like I said, I love the improvements but am getting discouraged about the mileage.

I'd also like to point out that unless gas prices rise, there is not much of a cost save with the increased fuel economy because you are buying more expensive gas. If gas prices rise, and the cost premium for running 92/93 octane stays at about $0.20/gal, then the better mileage will save you money. But with 87 octane prices barely over a buck a gallon, the savings is negligible.
From my point of view, I like having the gas milage, but I would gladly give it up for some performance. I only gained maybe a half mile to a mile difference with the chip. (closer to the half mile) But it was a positive. So I have to rate the chip as an overall postive. Especially since I put larger tires on my screw, this pull the hp way down. If it was all stock, it would have a hard time pulling the bigger tires.
