Taurus emblem

I have a question about the taurus emblems that some of ya'll are putting on your billett grills. I was wondering if this same emblem would be able to be mounted to the regular honeycomb factory grill. Thanks in advance.

Question

What is the deal with the "Taurus" emblem. I've seen mention of it before here. How is it special or different?

cajunscrew,

I don't think you could mount the Taurus emblem on the stock grill, the blank spot left when you take the stock blue oval out is significantly larger than the one from the Taurus.

arbee ,

The emblem from a 2001 Taurus has wings of sorts...I like the look on my grill....take a look.

thanks

Thanks for the info. I think the taurus emblem looks better than stock, but I didn't want to go through the trouble of installing a billet grill, but... since you did it can you tell me how much trouble it is to install and if it makes noise while at speeds say 60-85. Any drilling or cutting, and do you have to remove the radiator and fan shroud. Thanks again.

cajunscrew,

Installing a grille is pretty easy, you remove the corner lamps, which are held in by one screw each, then you remove ten screws that hold in the grille surround. It also has 4 plastic clips that need to be removed, my grille attached to the radiator frame which is fiberglass or plastic...4 self threading screw hold it in...you dont have to take anything else off....i guess the answer yor looking for is yes, you do have to make 4 holes in the fiberglass frame.......
