Mike:
Did your heaters come from the factory or did the dealership install them? I want to put them into my '01 S'Crew but like you I want a temp control. I sat in a VW Passat wagon over XMas that had dialable temp control and you needed it! Those seats got hot after a few minutes and the control was set for 3 yet it could go up to 6!
Has anybody here installed aftermarket seat heaters with success?

Good thought. I love the heated seats, but sure wish I could turn them down a few degrees as it is I turn them on and off and on and off......

Hey Mike,

Hot seats, I've got'em too!

I had the same idea about some sort of indicator that can tell you that the heater is on. Also, I'll start looking at some easy type of temperature control and indicator system. I've got access to all the electrical schematics and that makes a huge difference on designing some sort of indicator and where to tap into the electrical harness to do almost anything within reason.

Heater control? You mean there's an option for a seat heater? I'll be a SOB. I'm gonna see if this can be retrofitted. I'm sooooo tired of constantly re-lighting that durn Sterno can under my seat.

What book are you looking in for the schematics? Do you have a copy of the Ford Service Manual for Electrics on the S'Crews? I didn't think that was out in publication yet! That would be the way to go, a thermostat in the seat wired to the on switch to regulate the voltage. And we cut out the on switch so everthing goes through the thermo. Also, have the thermo. off of the Accessory circuit so it is off when the ignition is off too!
