Talking Hello From a New S'Crew Owner

Bought a new SuperCrew December 20, 2001--happy as can be with this truck Have 2000 miles on it already

My compliments to the owner of this site--very nice...no flame wars like other sites seem to have.

Here's my first question...I have the 5.4L engine and am wondering what can be done to wake it up a bit? Exhaust? Which one's 'best' Intake? Thanks!

I think the Superchip provides the best "bang for your buck" on these trucks. Read all about it in the "Computer Chips" forum.

I have a Superchip and a drop in K&n Filter......The chip is, in my opinion, well worth the money...go over to the computer chip section and read........good luck with your new rig...and have fun here at F150online.....Welcome.

Always good to see another person keeping the supercrew alive.

As for me, I did the Superchip thing first, then installed an Air Force 1 intake kit. Next, I'll do exhaust.

As the others have said, check out the computer chips forum for Mike T.

When you can, try to support the site by purchasing from the online store and supporting vendors. Helps keep this great source of information and fellowship free for everyone.

Welcome and good luck with your new truck!

Hi, ZJumper, and welcome!

I have exhaust and filter mods only. Don't notice much difference in power, but it sounds alot better with the Ravin. I'm working on waking up the inside of my SCrew now with audio and video. But, I agree with the others here about the chip. It's probably the best wake-up mod.

Have fun,
Rob

Welcome ZJumper,

Hope you find this site as helpful and entertaining as I do. I kind of stumbled onto this site while I was researching my purchase of a Screw. After spending a week or more on here, I decided to go to my local dealer and start looking. I saw a King Ranch Screw and said, naw, too fancy and those seats look funny. I kept on looking and went back to the dealer several times and just couldn't quit looking at that KR. Finially I drove a Lariat 4x4 Screw and then I drove the 4x4 KR Screw and it was no contest. I walked away that day and said I would think it over. I did the math and checked the prices, and made my dealer an offer. They agreed to my terms and we made the deal.

I had a few problems at first with paint issues but now I'm okay.

As far as engine mods, I'm kind of looking for more efficiency to go along with more power. I know that's asking a lot but I figure that I've already paid a fortune to have it as is and just can't seem to justify spending hundreds and maybe thousands to go faster. If I can spend that same money and get more efficient and still go faster when I want to accelerate, then I will spend the money today.

Anyway, I would get the Airaid intake kit, Super Chip, Transmission shift kit, Headers and true dual exhaust but maybe not necessarily in that order.

We need pics and specs when you get "A-Round-Tuit".

Good luck and welcome,
DaveMan
