Question Homelink Questions Again!

Hey there! I searched the site for all Homelink related posts and didn't really come up with a satisfactory, recent answer to the dilemma of adding a Homelink transmitter to a Lariat SCrew.

We have one in our other vehicle and it's super convenient. I'd love to add one to the SCrew as well. The other posts indicated that you could get a replacement visor with the system for $300+. Unfortunately, that's just outrageous and not a real option for me.

Has anyone put one in for less than that? Are there any other aftermarket options out there? I checked eBay today and didn't see anything. Any info. would be appreciated!

As far as I know the dealer is your only outlet for the visor.

You could look into a salvage yard that handles late model vehicles. I believe the one from an '01 Expedition will work and, of course, the ones for a '02 King Ranch will also work.

I also think the Expy ones are three button and the KRs are 5 button (quick note recorder).

The one in my 2001 King Ranch has the three programmable buttons and the personal note ones too, which I believe you refer to as the 5 button one. Anyway, they came in the 2001's as well as the 2002's.
