Just got hit!

I was turning into a small shopping center along a busy section of road to grab some lunch, and as I was turning left to go in, a guy driving out of the shopping center was looking to his left, and ran into me! I was very far through the turn when I saw he wasn't looking at people coming from the other direction, honked the horn and think that got him to slow down before impact - he was only rolling out as it was. Anyway, we pulled over, and he had only bumped into the tire, not the wheel or the body around the tire Basically no harm but for the scuffing of the black magic on the tire!!!! Whew.

I almost had a Honda in the side of my truck. Was driving though a parking lot and didn't even see the backup lights until I saw it backing up right twoard my passenger side of the bed (I swerved) . He slamed on his brakes and missed me by literally inches!!!!

I kept on driving with my heart pounding, and when I got to my next destination got out and checked (it was that close)

Wonder what the guy in the car felt like?

Angry

Glad you guys are OK. Sounds like you both had a close call.

Some peckerhead did hit me! I noticed it last Friday...not sure when it happened. I now have a softball sized area in the lower rear quarter that looks like the paint is cracked. Didn't seem to break the fiberglass, but it will have to be filled and repainted. It really pisses me off when someone hits my vehicle, and then doesn't have the decency to tell me. Sorry about the vent! I feel much better now.

Yeah, well, I had a buddy that got hit like that once. There were people around, so the driver got out and left a note under the wiper... it read:

"Sorry I hit your car"

I'm sorry but that last one was some funny s**t!!!

Too bad they couldn't identify the finger prints on the paper, but it would have to be pretty bad for that to get done.

Hey Robdude30

I know how you feel. About a year ago I noticed a dent in the passenger door of my Truck as I was cleaning it. Some #$$#%#$% must have hit me in a parking lot. The Truck was only 3 month old at the time so I was very pissed. Then this April someone rear ended me doing 80 km. pushed me into the Van in front of me. Both bumpers where gone and a Tire. Cost $6500 CDN to fix. Last week on my way to work some guy came sliding into the intersection I was turning on. Luckily he stopped without hitting me. Did a little prayer after that one.

The hit & runs are horrible, had one happen to me some years ago in a beater I had, it was in a parking lot and I was heading to the door of a small store to leave and heard something outside, when I got to the parking around the corner, someone came up to me and said I just got hit and the person drove off, smashed a taillight and surrounding area - and of course the person who told me about it had no useful information

got my car hit in a parking lot once about 10 years ago. i was amazed to find a note under my wiper that actually contained all the other drivers info not only that but he said that he had gone to the police. i doubted that, but when i went to the cop shop, sure enough there was his report, with all necessary info.
nice to know some people are honest enough to do that.

How about a minimum of 4 times in 2 weeks. I just completed my Navy Reserve training in Naples Italy in August. The rental car I had was hit on every corner when I turned it in. I was never even in the car when it got hit!

Luckily they didn't charge me for it. (I think because they didn't do the pre-inspection from the last owner).

I saw 2 F150's while I was there. There is no way I would take my truck over there!

I was leaving a store just before Christmas, and as I reach my vehicle a man approached and asked if it was mine. He had backed into the bumper and was in the process of writing down his insurance info to leave under my wiper if I didn't appear before he left. There are some honorable people left.

If I hit a car with no owner around, I would have to leave my info so that they could contact me. If I didn't I would feel bad for the rest of my life.

I have bumped into 2 cars in my life (not with my new truck) and both of them had the drivers still im them. So I haven't even had chance to make this desision to run or be honest, but if (hopefully it dosen't) this happened to me then I know I would be honest about it. Unfortunatly they might come back and say I did more than I really did, and well, the world is just not fair, we just each have to do our best to protect ourselves without hurting others in the process.
