New 2002 KR Has Arrived

I got a phone call this morning from the dealer saying the truck had arrived. However, it arriced w/ some transit damage.

Chip in the paint on rear left panel over tire and cracked grill. Grill has been replaced, no problem. The truck went to the body shop for some fixing. "Why me?"

So, im going up there tonight to take a look at it, see what other "Transit damage" I can find and determine how bad it is. If it looks good I may go ahead and bring it home.

The truck was ordered on 10/30/2001 and arrived yesterday 12/04/01, one day earlier than the original estimated delivery date. Im excited as hell, just cant believe theres a chip before I even drive it. I was perfectly capable of putting my own chip in it. I will be posting pics soon here and on the new Web site.

Don't sweat it. Mine also had "transit damage." I'm not sure who the idiots are that transport these vehicles but they need to come up with a better way. Let the dealer fix it up and don't look back!

Congrats! I look forward to seeing some pics!

Thanks for the encouraging words. I must say after taking a look into the situation I feel like they are doing it right. I went up there w/ the mind set that I would tell them to get me a new one. However, they have taken it to a professional body shop, they fixed the scratch, and then repainted the entire left side of the bed as opposed to just trying to fix that one hole or mark it left. The Grill is a slam dunk. They overnighted a new grill in, painted it and it's done. The grill they took off was cracked w/ a bird imbedded in it. (Bad day for flying)

So, I dont know. Im going to see it in the morning, in the light, and im gonna do a lot of walk arounds. I investigated it in the paint booth tonight. I feel like it it's going through the same process it did a week or so ago at the factory if not better.

I think your right. If it looks smooth as I suspect it will, it's coming home. Im sure I will have a parking lot ding or rock chip within a week anyway.

I will be posting pics on my gallery but also on my new F150 web site, so check in.
