power window
my passenger window is a bit slow ...when I roll it up and down with the engine of....but when I have my engine running its just fine .....any idea how I cloud fix this or what's going on ?
Hey justaduck,
Just don't shut off the engine
. No, really the alternator apparently can keep up with the current demand and maintain sufficient voltage to the window motor better than the battery by it's self. I wouldn't think it shouldn't make much difference either but apparently your battery can't keep up with the demand and maintain the same voltage at the window motor that the alternator can.
I would check your battery out with a load tester to see if it is doing okay too. Also, don't forget that your system voltage can be as high as 14.2-14.5 volts while the engine is running. The battery will have a hard time maintaining more than 12 volts while the engine is off and the window motors are drawing current. With that said, there may always be a slight difference in the window speeds from engine off and on but I haven't tested it.
