Cool New Owner!!!!!

2002, XLT Supercrew, 4.6L, towing package. Bright Red no 2 tone (needs a pinstripe or something REAL BAD)!!!!!

I wanted this truck since it came out but a new house was alittle more important. I was a Nissan owner for the last 18 years prior to making the jump. I really needed (AND LIKE) the interior room, but have to admit, I was alittle disappointed with the interior layout. I found VERY LITTLE dash storage, the center pulldown console does not even hold CD's!!!! The power seat is OK, though I think very overpriced (It was in it, had to take it kinds thing) and should at least have a memory switch. I took me 10 minutes to get it somewhat comfortable, and now if the wife drives, she has the same problem, then I have to find my seating again!!!

I like the ride and the height of the truck (tough cleaning the windshield though). My Pathfinder had 31/10.5 tires, they would look great on this monster!!!!! I hear they are a bear on Gas but I will have to wait and see.

I am at a lose about the bed. DO I go liner (and worry about it rubbing down the paint and stuff sliding) or do I go with a mat!!!! Ford dealer has a mat for $86.oo Is that a good price. My concern is, with a bed extender, do you have to cut the mat for the rubber bumpers to sit on, or is the Ford version already set up for this?????

Would LOVE some advice!!!!!
Thanks, GREAT site, GREAT TRUCK

Go spray-in bedliner... Line-X... you'll like it. It's worth it.

Cool Welcome to the club!

I'm going for the spray in myself. But thats up to you based on how much money you want to spend. You can also get a "Bed Rug" that will make it a big trunk, also the bed rug can get wet and other stuff etc. I wouldn't want a rug but you may want that option.

Congrads on your new truck and welcome to the club! The elite club of Super Crew owners although growing VERY quickly.

hey jooey

The center console does hold CD's... you have to lay 'em flat in the designated area. If you go with the trim jewel cases you can get about 10 or so in there.

You're right about the memory in the seat. I would love to have a memory option. When my wife drives it she only moves it forward and back, otherwise I start all over trying to find the right spot. Chevy has this option, I don't know what Ford was thinking.

I also wish they would have installed a Recirc. option on the vent sys. Nothing like sitting behind an old cluncker sucking in that exhaust. Geez Ford what were you thinking?

Small gripes on an otherwise great truck. Oh well, maybe not a "grand slam" more like a "triple RBI".

Hey joeeyo,

Welcome to the Screw Club. You're right about lots of good folks and info too.

I've had lots of trucks and each and every one got one of those rubber mats and I always loved them. I went with the bedrug with the KR screw and have no regrets. I'm kind of rough on my trucks at times and so far there's been no issues with durability or weathering. I'm going to be installing my Better Built tool box as soon as I get it finished. I had to do some mods to the box and there's a thread on tool boxes on a screw I started some time back.

Woody,
There is a recirc feature in your truck, if you have AC. Select Max (fully ccw), that is recirc.
