Anyone know the Screw's Alternator Output?
In Watts or Amps? I do not have the tow package on mine. I'm running 600 watts in Stereo, and don't know how far I can go on the driving lights..
Thanks in Advance

Hey Beastrider,
I guess you figured I'd be posting to this, hey?
How's it going, are you doing well, how's that truck performing?
No, I'm not going to comment on alternators here so don't fret, well I might just a little.
Besides, I think that no matter what the alternator puts out, you can't just go out and get a bigger one just like going shopping at Wal-Mart. If the alternator or total electrical system are inadequate then there's not much that can be done short of electrical system re-design.
Just because a stereo is rated at 600 Watts doesn't mean that it draws 600 watts of power all the time, I think it depends on the volume level selected and other factors.
I still don't understand why knowing what speed the max output of the alternator is will help this guy figure out his lighting and stereo system any better. Please don't comment on my electrical theory crap, even though I already know you won't be able to resist.

Hey Daveman... no comment on alternators... I'm burned out... just a rough guesstimate for the gentleman...
As for my truck... real good... not as good a build as my 97... it was flawless... but... I'm feeling better about this one...
However... my new REAL LOVE is my Valkyrie... totaled my first one... now have a midnight blue and silver Interstate... great bike... and as an added bonus, eats Harleys for lunch and dessert! Pix as soon as I get some time.
OK... PS: I can't resist... you are right on about stereo wattage... so much of this stereo stuff... especially in autos... is bullhockey... like you say... is that 600 watts peak? Continuous? Into how many ohms? My guess from the stuff I have seen is that a so called 600 watt setup is peak into 4 ohms... maybe a continuous 150 into 8 ohms... as I recall, the rule of thumb for most advertised wattages is about 1/8 into 8 ohms... so this would be a true 75 watt draw... under 8 amps... but who knows... or cares... I'm living with the stock stereo... so I can get MORE CHROME for the bike.
