Problem with the rear leather seats?

Anybody have problems with laying down the rear leather 60/40 seats? When I did mine for the first time, the seat belt buckle tried to leave a stretch mark in the leather. It did come out but I know over time it is going to leave a large mark in the leather. Has anybody done anything for this like laying a towel or something over the buckle?
Thanks

I haven't noticed anything unusual. I fold mine flat at least once a week. Will check and see if it's rubbing/wearing.

I assume you have a Gen III???

Yeah, mine does that too. I have only folded it down for use about 3 times. The seat belt also leaves black marks on the leather too.

I also have med parchment leather and have had no real problem. It leaves an indention for a little while and then smoothes out on its own. I have not left it down for days at a time, but have for 24 hours or so on a couple of instances. Sorry, no help.

Same problem here - yes, I have taken a towel and placed it between the belt latch and the seat back when I lay it down. Reduces the indentation, but does not eliminate it. But as stated before, the indent usually disappears after a couple of hours.

Ford started production on the Gen III in late 2000 - I took delivery in December 2000 and got a Gen III (to my and my dealer's surprise). Essentially anytime they make changes to the truck or packages or whatever, they create a new "generation". All trucks produced right now are Gen III - if you have headrests on your rear seats, you have a Gen III.

Besides interior options, were there any engine or mechanical differences?
Also I almost waited to buy a 2002. Are there any differences in the 01 and the 02?
I've had mine for two weeks now and love it.

Not that I am aware of as far as mechanical. As far as 2002 vs. 2001, the only changes that I know of are: auto climate control, 4X4 package change, change in wheels, some color changes.

As far as I know LightningCrew is right, thats the only changed made. Why change a good thing anyways!!!

I have the cloth seats and the belt does leave a mark on my seats that brushes away, and is unoticable after a while. Ford didn't think about this one enought to make the profile of the seat belt buckles smaller or something.

Headrests

Anyone accidently put their headrests in backwards? If so, how did you manage to get it out without breaking/tearing anything? I've accidently started putting the headrest in backwards before, but have always been able to pull it out. Now I can't.

Even holding the button down while you pull up?

This problem was discussed many months ago so try a search to find it. If I remember correctly you can get them off by using a strong paperclip size wire stuck in a little hole to release the latching part in the head rest. I've labeled my head rests to make sure I put them on correctly. Good luck.
