Question Cooling/air blocking problem with billit style grille?

Should there be any concern for loss of air flow with a Billit grille or something like that. They seem to have a lot smaller of surface area for the air to pass though.

I wouldn't think this is an issue, but better to ask than to sit in wonder.

I always wondered about that too.......... sure does seem like it would restrict airflow.... it can't be an illusion, can it?

It should not be a problem if there was a decent radiator behind it ..

I wondered about that too but I now have a summer of towing behind me with my grille in. I have towed our 31 foot trailer for thousands of miles in 90 degree plus weather and noticed no ill effects. Mind you I had the bigger rad put in for me by my dealer.

The billet doesn't seem to have any side effects with air flow. I can tell you that mine is the biggest pain in the a$$ about whistling at you. As soon as you hit about 10mph it starts and gets louder and louder until you get to about 50 and then the road noise takes over!

adamski,
Just pretend that's the sound of your supercharger. Mine whistles from about 25Mph and up but sounds like it is not as bad as yours.

I have the Precision Billet. It doesn't bother me much. It certainly is less annoying than the whistle from the Airraid before I got the piece to fix it!
