Thumbs up Air horn and compresser

My air horn and air compresser arrived by UPS today. It's going to be very loud. two horns that blast at 133DB Same horns as the (big rigs) use. It comes with a half gallon tank. 25 feet of extra hose for inflating tires or cleaning out the bed. I am putting the air compresser in the tool box which allready holds a 2 gallon gas can and a 700 watt inverter for running household products in the screw! If anyone is interested in getting an air horn check out jcwhitney.com

A long time ago, I worked on a pick em up truck the guy put airhorns from a train locomotive on. It was way loud. He said it was pretty funny when he saw people stop on the tracks at a light- he would sound them and watch them panic. Funny guy.

Been there done that. You are going to love that horn.

I know the instruction say not to mount it to the firewall, that is the only place I have room.

Mounted the horn behind the bumper.

Just to let you know it is against the law to permanently mount railroad engine horns on any vehicle in a permanent mount. Considering size too they'd be pretty obvious.

I haven't had time this lately to install it. Hopefully next weekend. I know it will be a project cause im runing the air lines and power out to my tool box in the bed. So Firezap just how loud is it? was it an easy install for you? there sure are a lot of random parts.

The install is strait forward. Just remember to use the provided thread sealer, I forgot to do the tank and it leaked. Don't think of using the air hose to fill tires, tank is to small and the pump takes forever.
LOUD This thing is awesome. I've scared quite a few people with it. The reason I got mine is, people just couldn't/wouldn't see my truck and kept on pulling out or trying to make lane changes in front of me.
I wired mine into a seperate switch that I mounted where the 4x4 selector would be. I'm still thinking of installing a foot switch.
I wired the horn hot, and the pump to a switched source.

The Buell product isn't really a "railroad horn" -- It's just what they call it. It's legal to use on your POV.
