Thumbs up Finally: Found the deal, and put in order

For those who were following the "Trade In Value" post, I got the thing worked out. I was able to put in my order today for a new 2002 4X4 King Ranch.

I am trading in my 2001 4X4 Supercrew Lariat in which I took posession of in April of 2000. The truck has 31,000 miles on it w/ a beautiful ARE Lid and Kit Co steps. I was able to get $24,500 on the trade in and purchased the truck for $33,000. Im not sure what interest rates will be at the time of delivery or what incentives may take the place of rising interest rates, but thats the scoop. The truck had an MSRP of $37,545 and an invoice of $32,863. It's gonna work out pretty well in the end.

Im real excited about the new KR! I went for the Charcoal Blue, 4X4, w/ 5.4, limited slip, bed extender, 40/60 rear bench option, moonroof, sliding rear window and absolutely no dealer stickers! Im going to be adding to it: ARE Lid, Sprayed Bed Liner, Audio Sub and Amp upgrades & short antenna for garage entrance. I had the hardest choice with the color. They dont make a KR color that sucks! However, the Chestnut seems to be the most common, and although I love this particular green alot, im not much for green. I have seen only one Blue one in my life, in person. It's outstanding. So, it will be Charcoal Blue for me. They gave me the standard 6 - 8 weeks routine on delivery, but said that trucks are coming in around 5 weeks tops. It will be a sweet Christmas! Now I just have to start figuring out how to keep track of it's status.

God bless Ford and this Country!

LightGuy..You may want to double check with the dealer on the interest rate. Here in Omaha we could order any Supercrew and they would GTD the rate of 0.0/2.9/4.9 when ever the truck was delivered if you ordered it before 10/31/01. They announced this on 10/24/01. If your truck gets delivered and the rate is lower then the current offering they would offer us the lower rate, but at least you were GTD the current rate no matter when your truck was delivered. The dealer said FORD has only done this one other time..

Sales incentives are regional... what is offered in one place may be different everywhere else, goes for interest rates and consumer rebates as well.....

If someone from Texas travels to Illinois to buy the vehicle, the dealer in Illinois is supposed to only be able to deliver the vehicles with the incentives (interest rate and rebates) that are offered in Texas at the zipcode of the buyer........

I believe Springfield, MO and Omaha, NE are in the same region, so the low interest rate would apply for orders in this case. I would also check a few dealers in the Springfield area as only one dealer in Omaha told us about the order and lock in of the low interest rate.

I checked on that w/ four dealers in this area and they all say that they stopped doing that a week ago this last Saturday. They said it was a limited time deal that has run it's limit. They seem hopeful that the current deal will be extended, but who knows. I would not expect them to tell me any different anyway.
