Unhappy ~~CHRUNCH~~help

My poor poor screw.....

TOday I had my car parked in the driveway.....wife pulls in in her CRV parks behind me in my blind spot.... I go out get in look over shoulder never see (or remember ) the CRV....

~~Crunch~~~ a glancing blow to my rear 1/4 panel.....

the good news is no bending or crunching of metal (on the screw) but a nice red paint swipe.
==========================================
NOW THE QUESTION------

what is the best way to remove the paint???

It did not srcatch thru to the metal and I do not see any of my white paint messed up it appears like it is all on the surface.....
=========================================

I feel like a putz -especially after repeatedly telling my 16 year old how to be carefull backing..... :-)

any advice as to how to fix this with out ruining my clear coat etc would be greatly appreciated

thanks
MIKE

PS---the CRV did not fare so well -- it will have to go to the body shop

Angry

Sorry to hear about your Screw, that sucks!!
There are plenty of good clearcoat polishes out there if you want to do it youself, just put in a little elbow grease, stick with the name brand like Maguires or Mothers. I would try bringing it to a body shop though if its only a scuff mark that can be polished out I'm sure it wouldn't cost much, try to make a deal with the guy that fixes your CRV.
Good Luck

Sorry about your truck.....no advice here just a comment. I'm really starting to like the new sonar that comes on the superduty. I can see where it could get annoying but if it saved you one time like this............well, we'll see....

Mineral spirits should remove the paint. Just make sure you wash it off real good and then rewax because it will remove your wax also.

Screw rear quarters are plastic which probably flexed enough to prevent damage. I have used WD40 to remove small spots but you may need something stronger. Sometimes it is worth checking with the pros to prevent doing more costly damage with solvents etc.

Talking All Better

Well......... my baby is all better

I was able to use "Meguiars" --( 3 step kit) to polish it out... It said it was clear coat safe.... and it worked great.....

I did have to wax the rest of the truck to make it all look as nice as the rear quarter panel

just wanted to update you guys.....

thanks for your help.....
