Can I use 5w30 Mobile 1 in my 01', 5.4, 4x4. I live in NJ, don't tow anything and don't really go offroad. My truck has about 6000 miles on it. OH - Can I use this oil without problems?

 

I use 5W-30 synthetic in my truck and I haven't had a problem.There is several guys on this board that use that kind of oil in their trucks without problems, just make sure to change it at regular intervals.I think Ford recommends 5W-20 for the 2001's but only for the simple reason to improve fuel economy other than that using 5W-30 is okay.Its also what the owner's manual says to use.

 

I have been using it since my first oil change and I know have almost 11K miles on the truck. No problem!

 

I have 15,000 miles on mine. Been using full Synthetic 10w-30 since 1,000. No Problems...
