Has anyone supercharged there screw yet, I have a 4.6 and thinking about doing it . Looking for best manufacture and price . any suggestions ??

 

There was an article in Truckin Magazine a couple of months ago. they put a supercharger on a 4.6 SuperCrew.

 

My question is, if you supercharge your screw, what about the trany, will it be too much stress on it as can it handle the extra power. The Lightning has the upgraded transmission (the W100 vs the W70 I belive)

There is a supercharging kit for the 5.4 by Holey, but it will put out 400 horses to the flywheel and thats sound like too much for the standard trans. I have no idea what the 4.6 with supercharger could do, I would guess in the low to mid 300s though.

 

Kenne Bell makes a twin screw type supercharger for 4.6/5.4.

 

Truckin installed a MagnaCharger supercharger on a 4.6 supercrew. The only other upgrade they performed was adding a high pressure, high flow fuel pump.

The October issue of Truckin has all kinds of info on blowers and superchargers. They also show you the installation of the magnacharger on that 4.6 Screw.

 

A shift kit, would be in store, at least, then a torque convertor..make it bullet proof...then all you have to do is worry about frying the tires....

I have seen the whole kit the factory uses for $1800..what a deal...

 

Mach 1 factory kit sounds like the best buy , everybody else want around $4000.00 for a set up does any body know what the part number from the factory would be and the best place to get some info on it. Thanks in advance

 

So what else would be advisable to do if you supercharged the screw? How would that affect offroading / 4x4 capability (other than going faster!)?

Like the name say always screwed, contacted fordpartsonline got paul not gary darn says the one they list on there web site is a glitch and will not work, I think paul has glitch, they show a kit for $1500.00 witch is a great deal, better than $4000.00 from others , anybody else have better luck with ford and this kit let me know.
