Unhappy Lumbar busted!?!?!?

Hi yall!
My lumbar in driver seat is busted. It still works but, it is poking through the back of the seat. It goes to the dealer saturday am.
Has anyone had this happen to them? The truck has less than 5k miles. I had a 98 f150 never had to go to dealer. Traded it in with 80k miles. I'm wondering what kind of treatment to expect.Let me know if this has happened to you and what dealer did.

Thanks
Brian

I had the lumbar fail on my 1999 SuperCab. It just stopped inflating... dealer replaced the lumbar bag under warranty. No problem.

Smile I had the same problem.

Many were never installed correctly. You can fix it yourself.

Flip the seat forward. Unlatch the top (seat back) cover hook (it is a plastic hook that latches like 2 interlocking "J"s at the very bottom of the seat back cover (this may require a small blade screwdriver). It is as wide as the seat back.

Work the cover off by pulling upward.

You will see the support has 2 clips that were never inserted in the mounting holes from the factory. Press them back into the holes.

The driver seat in my screw has a problem as well. Not sure what exactly, but the "springs" make a metallic grating sound when I put pressure in the area around or just above the lumbar. I love my screw, but it is turning into a POS...

Thanks for the replies guys. I had to make an appointment for tues. I might try the fix myself, I appreciate the tips. I don't trust to leave my truck anywhere, I'm pretty **** about stuff like that.
See ya

Yup, happened to me the first week I had the truck. I was already planning on calling the dealer that morning to make the appointment for my "due bill" (a couple of scratches) and when I got to work, I noticed the back of the seat bulging out. Told 'em about it when they called and they fixed it along with the scratches (took 2 days 'cause they had the truck in the body shop the first day for the scratches), but it's fine now.

Chalk mine up too. Came from the factory broken - passenger seat. Didn't notice it until we had four people in there and someone from the back seat noticed it. Dealer replaced entire lumbar system.

Wink

Truck went to dealer today. Awesome service! Lumbar fixed(with 'zip tie' no less). Asked about seatbelt recall, they replaced driver side and ordered passenger side. I'll be watching the lumbar, but I guess end of story!
