The factory running boards actually have a plastic cover on them color keyed to your bed caps.

I also have a black screw and the running boards are black as well. I have only seen them in black or beige (King Ranch).

Well, the Running boards that I have for sale (see classified ad #9602) are black/charcoal, and in great condition. In fact, they're boxed up and ready to ship! kevin.tucker@eds.com.

According to a Ford Motor Company 2001 Supercrew brochure located at:

http://billcurrie.com/2001%20Ford%20...-150supercrew/

2001 running boards are described as follows:

"Running boards(black platform, 4X2/4X4; nurf-style on Harley-Davidson(R); color-keyed and lighted on King Ranch."

This fits with what my dealer told me when I picked up my 2001 Screw (I got a black truck with black boards). I remember commenting on the board color match and he told me they all came in black.

Now, according to the Ford website located at:

http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/f...ures/packages/

2002 running boards are described as follows:

"Cab steps (Black platform type with Styleside 4X2. Black tubular with Styleside 4X4 and all Flareside)"

HOWEVER, this site also says that for 2002 there is a Lariat upgrade package which includes color keyed-running boards decribed as follows:

"Lariat Upgrade Accessories Group: includes color-keyed molded running boards; power sliding rear window; simulated wood grain trim (front door switchplates, instrument panel center); Electrochromic interior mirror (not available with SuperCrew)"

And to further complicate things, according to 2001 ordering info I saw at the Westfield Ford internet site (they also said that all 2001 non-King Ranch Screw boards are black) there are color keyed boards available on 2001 non-Screw F-150's, but not the Screw.

In summary, for the 2001 model year all non-King Ranch Screw boards were black, but for the 2002 model year color-keyed boards were an option on the Lariat. Color-keyed boards were on the King Ranch both years and optional on non-Screw F-150's.

So.... what did you end up with? Seems to me you must have gotten either:

1. 2001 or 2002 running boards from a King Ranch

or

2. 2002 running boards from a truck with the Lariat Upgrade Accessories group.

or

3. Running boards from a non-Screw F-150 (in which case they should be too short).

Well, if you got the King Ranch boards you probably got a good deal. They are $370 each from my local dealer (Too rich for my blood).

Do they have lights in the middle on them?
