almost got screwed (KR vs LARIAT)

This past weekend I was just about to order a SCREW but just cant make up my mind. I can get 2002 KR or LARIAT for $200 under invoice with the 4.9% for 60 months..I just can't believe you cannot get a power slider window for the KR from the factory.

Power Slider for KR?

There is a $1000 Lariat Upgrade package (#63L) for the '02 Screw Lariat that includes the power rear window, side steps and something else which escapes me right now. I don't know if this package is available for the KR or exclusive to the Lariat. Went to www.kbb.com and it looks like 63L is available for the KR but it doesn't give the package as an option to check, nor does it tell you what is in the package. Try your local salesperson (LOL!).

When I bought the 2002 Lariat, I saw a few models with the upgrade package and I didn't want any of that other crap. I don't like the running boards and the stock wood grain looks cheap. I have seen too many of those start to peel off, especially in the Dallas heat.

I didn't see the power window as a stand alone option. sucks.

Yea, dealer said power slider not available with KR. So now I need to decide if the extra 1K is worth it for the King Ranch. I really like the dark interior in the KR, but don't really need the heated seats and disc changer. I guess if the power slider was availabe on the KR the truck would be on order right now!

Customize a Lariat

Not to take anything away from the KR, but I would get the Lariat, the package with the power slider, and then purchase some aftermarket accessories that can make your truck look better that a KR for less $$$.

I kind of agree with you but the dark leather interior for the KR is much nicer than the pleather (vinal leather) in the LARIAT. I can get the KR for 1K more than the Lariat. Not bad considering heated seats, cd changer, special edition and better leather for 1K more.
