Question Lighted running boards???

Anyone out there installed lights for the factory (or aftermarket) running boards on a SCREW? I've seen the lights on the stock Expy running boards, looks cool and would help when getting into the truck at night. Another SCREW owner said he saw the lighted running boards on a King Ranch SCREW. I'm thinking I'll just buy a couple of pairs of weatherproof lights (no funky colors, just clear) and wire them to the cab light circuit. I'm hoping there's a connector available where the light for the Expy/KR running board lights would hook up to. KR owners out there, if your running boards have those lights, can we get you to check and see where they're powered from??? Us other SCREW owners will be eternally greatful!!!!

Thanks in advance for your time.

Aloha from Hawaii!!!

O.K. I am going to try to be as helpful as possible. I installed a set of lights that were from lighted cab steps about a year ago. I made a mounting bracket out of aluminum and then polished it for each side. I then picked up power from the lights that are in the doors that illuminate whenever the doors are unlocked via key fob of when the switch on the dash is turned on for illuminating the cab and bed. To find out which wire it is, simply pop out the lens as if you were changing the bulb and note which whires are used. Then open up the kick panel on each side of the truck and find where the rubber hose that connects the cab to the door is. The wires for the door lite will leave the cab through that hose. You can just use one of those quick splicers there and run your wires to the lite along the floor after you remove the plastic trim that holds down the carpeting. I believe there was even a hole already through the floor that was sealed with a rubber grommet. If you have any more questions le tme know.

The wire will be black with a light blue stripe for the power to the lamps on both sides.

kr running boards pn

Just installed the KR running boards on my Lariat a few weeks ago - very easy install but you do have to splice into wiring circuit as indicated above for the lights.

The part numbers are as follows:
1L3Z-16450-AAA
1L3Z-16450-AAB
One is for the RH side the other is for the LH side. I ordered from www.fordpartsnetwork.com and they were about $300 each. The only problem I had was the attaching hardware was not included with the boards so I had to pick up the bolts and retainers from my local dealer.

There are no plugs per se' All you need to do is use quick taps and connect into the wires that I listed above... easy as pie.
