What would it take to take the factory remote start out of my old 2002 f150, and install it in the 2002 I just bought without it?

 

Ford never offered a "factory" remote start back then. They offered a dealer installed unit. You'd have to look under the dash, find the box, and get the explicit identification of what is installed.

You'd likely just need to transfer EVERYTHING over, except perhaps the key in the PATS bypass module which would need to be replaced by a key programmed to the "new" truck.
