Thumbs up Picked up my 2002 King Ranch

I picked up my 2002 King Ranch last night. I ordered it with the rear bench seat (code 87B) and fully loaded about 6 weeks ago at $400 over invoice. It was delivered to the dealership in record time.

It's a really nice ride. The only real changes that I can see between the '01 and '02 is the available rear bench. The Fx4 option is not available but you can still order the skid plates as an option.

Congratulations dlh4by4,

Glad to hear you finially got your new ride. Why don't you share some specs with us, color, options, etc. Next, let's see some pics of her, preferably naked.

Looking forward to your uncovering!

hey dlh,

according to some ford '02 truck info, it appeared that wood grain dash trim and chrome running boards were gonna be part of the kr package. after reading your post i'm assuming that the info was wrong. am i right? thanks...

I looked at a 2002 KR and it had darker trim along the seats to match the leather better, but aside from the climate control, it was the same. Same steps also.

No wood grain trim and the running boards are the same as for '01. My wife rode in it yesterday for the first time any distance and really liked the front seats.

Hey dlh4by4,

Any interest in visiting the King Ranch in November of this year right after Thanksgiving? There are six of us for sure but seems like not enough to me. Post your reply in the King Ranch forum on the KR trip thread if interested.

Also, still waiting to see your pics of that new '02 KR ride.

I have a '02 kr too and the most awsome thing on it that wasn't on the '01 is the home link. you can open up to three garage doors with it. no need for multiple garage door openers falling off you visor or even worse having the wrong one in your truck.

Hey Skagel,

I got an '01 and it has the Home Link. I don't have a garage yet but it may come in handy some day. Did you actually see an '01 without the Home Link or did someone tell you about that? I think there were three generations of the Screw in '01 and mine should be the gen III because I have the newer style seats. Maybe on of the earlier gens like I or II didn't have the Home Link.

I think all the Harley screws and KR screws had/have HomeLink. Mine does but then again it was built within days of Daveman's. I think it was a whole different paint shop crew though eh dave?

Logical,

I think the paint crew that got aholt to my screw probably had some real choice words to add to dat der recordin' deeevice on da visor. Maybe they just got finished smoking some crack from some pipe made from truck parts and then said, okay man, lets see how bad we can F**K this truck up.

Well, I feel like a real sucker and I've been around cars and trucks my whole life. When I say I've been around them, I don't mean just seeing them either, I worked on, modified, built and raced and even painted a few gems in my day. Talk about total trust in Ford. If that damn '00 4x4 Scab I traded in would've had just one flaw, I would have been all over that damn screw picking the fly S**T out of the pepper.

Bet your A$$ that'll never ever happen to me again. I'll always give someone the benefit of the doubt, but once they stick it in my A$$, that's it, and then I'll have their number. I normally don't like to let my dumb hang out in the wind but it sure looks like I've been had on this damn '01 KR I just bought.

Talk Later Man,
DaveMan

Yeah, all the HD and KR trucks have the homelink. The KR was not out until late in the model year 2001, so they are all Gen III's. I think it's the same for the HD, but I don't care too much about them, so I don't pretend to know much about them. Just that black is not a good color choice for paint or leather here in Florida (that's why I didn't get one).
