Thumbs up Rebadge screw with Harley gear..

I am making a job transistion that includes a company car that allows me to have positive cash flow for my truck sooner that expected. I wanted to know if anybody can help me figure out where I can get the Harley badges for my truck? My initial thoughts are to rebadge the truck, remove my pinstripes, add the wheels, maybe the westin style steps(kids are in and out frequently..slipping?) I'll post some pics by the weekend and appreciate your candid opinions? My truck is dark highland green.

I know some of you may say "Why didn't you just buy a HD?"
This is my first truck and I am a firm believer in incrementalism with my wife. This is the first step guys. After the mods and her assimilation.....the F250 powerstroke!

Thanks,
Chuck

I just bought a 3-pack of Kmart undershirts and a set of nice new red and blue permanent magic markers. I'm going to spend tonight making myself some of them there "Tommy Hilfinger" T-shirts.

ATLscrewdriver - don't let these people ridicule you for putting the badging on - it is no different than the hundreds that installed the '01 L headlights and taillights. We add these things to our trucks to make them look good, not to try and be something else. I guess you can't wear a Harley teeshirt if you don't own a Harley - whatever!!!

I added all of the Lightning equipment to my SCrew when I bought it - 1) I could not buy an L with 4 doors. 2) I could not get factory foglights on a 2-wheel drive SCrew. 3) I really like the L wheels. 4) I do not like the "F150" badge on the fenders and because Ford puts holes there (unlike Chevy) you have to cover it up with something and I was not going to repaint the fenders to cover the holes up - the dealer had some L badging in stock and I said put it on, at least until I can find something else to replace it.

I get a lot of compliments on my truck - yes I lot of them think it is a Lightning, but I make sure to tell them it is all looks. And yes, I do get a lot of people trying to race me, but I know better - this thing is a tank, and I would never try to destroy the Lightning rep by getting outrun by a little souped-up import. I just ignore them and let them find the cops!!!

And believe me, when Ford decides to come out with a TRUE Lightning SCrew, I will be the first in line to have one!!!

I agree as well. Do what you like, the truck is yours. You can only get the badges from a Ford dealer and you must use the VIN number from a real Harley truck. I have heard some dealers do not check although they are supposed to. Just cruise the mall and copy a Harley VIN from someones truck.

Putting Lightning badges on a screw though.............
Just teasing.

Nice one logical! I expected a few facetious(witty=definition for logical) comments.

And as for Lightning....I've seen your truck at the Varsity. It is a SICK ride. For all of you ole timers....that means cool or far out.

I respect everyones right to an opinion and expected anything. I appreciate your candor. I am in no way trying to completely replicate the HD screw but thought it may be a cool mod. I figure the entire mod could cost $4000(found a deal on some wheels with tires).

Some decide to color t-shirts....some modify their trucks.

BTW, logical I would recommend permanent markers.

Stay in the lines Logi!

I didn't mean it as harsh as it came across, and I agree do whatever you want.

I do however think that putting L lamps on a non-L is a little different (less bogus) than putting L badges on a truck. Basically anything that doesn't say "Lightning" is a whole different deal than something that does.

Back in the 80's I had the SVO bi-plane spoiler and smooth sail panels from the SVO mustang on my GT, but not the badging (and not the unique front end treatment). It looked great and I got a lot of compliments but nobody thought for a second it was a SVO and I didn't want them to. I just liked the styling

Anyone that knows these trucks will know they don't make a Lightning SCrew, and for all the others, SCrew them!!! (excuse the pun) As stated before, it is just temporary. Hell, it took a lot for me just to buy a Ford.

I will set up a fund for you all to donate to so I can add a supercharger to the truck so I will be legit.

I think you should post your Lightning Screw in the lightning forum. I'm sure they will be very complimentary. they are nice folks over there and I really hope you brighten their days with a few pics.

I'll just sit behind this tree over here and watch.

I say do what you want to your truck because it is yours. But IMO it is no different than when someone rebadges their honda or Acura. It becomes american rice.
