Thumbs up Harley Davidson Grill

Have had my XLT 4x4 SuperCrew for about 3 months now, and I still like turning the key today just as much as when I picked it up from the dealer.

Now I'm moving into the customizing phase of ownership. Wheels and tires are finished. Next on the list is a custom grill. The one I really want to add to my truck is the one that the Harley Davidson SuperCrew rolls out of factory wearing. Only hitch is, the dealer's parts department won't sell it to me unless I can provide him a VIN from a HD SuperCrew. My question to them was, "if I had an HD SuperCrew, would I need the grill?"

Anybody know of a workaround for this dilemma.

I'm getting to the point where I'd pay a bounty to an HD SuperCrew owner if he'd order me the grill!

Thumbs up Check E-Bay

Check on E-Bay. I know that I saw some that were available there. I don't remember the prices, though....

Thumbs up www.karkraft.com

They have them...$79.95, about $93 with S&H. Just did the mod myself. Very easy to do.

Cool

The grille that Scooby14B referred to is plastic, hence the $79 dollar price tag. I bought a Stull billet grille (~$200) and added a die cast blue oval Ford emblem (~$39), which I mounted in the center. It wasn't until later that I realized it looked just like the Harley Screw grille setup.

By the way, there is some cutting and drilling necessary to mount the billet grille in an XLT.

I'm sure the billet grills are nice, but even though the HD grill is plastic, it looks durn good. Plus there was no cutting and it took 30 minutes start to finish to put on. Looks awesome. Would look better on all black and no chrome bumpers (hmmm...the HD maybe?)

Anyway...different stroke for different folks. Anyway...my allowance wouldnt allow me to buy anything more expensive...lol

Wink heeheee

Actually my fiance got it for me for my birthday. She wouldnt go for a $200 grill though. Most of my mods were done before we started building our new house, the mods are screeching to a halt.
