Unhappy Wax On Bedrails

I wish I would have read about the problems people were having with waxing their trucks before I started, what a mess.

Dover,

Try a toothbrush and Rubbing alcohol, it worked fine for me. You need the toothbrush to get into the texture though.

Try "Back to Black" from Mcguires. K-Mart carries it. Seems to work great for problems like this.

Wink

Just be glad that you don't own an Avalanche. The lower half of the truck is made of plastic!! I don't know how a guy could keep from getting wax all over that stuff. Besides that, they are ugly buggers.

Actually the Avalanche might be very easy. Just use a belt sander. It would be very fast and wouldn’t change the looks of the cheap plastic.

Cool

I tape the plastic edges with "blue" masking tape to avoid the problem. I use it on the wiper cowl, bed, tailgate handle and the bottoms of the door glass. just takes a few minutes and saves the clean-up hassles.
