Question Max Load

First of all, what is the max amount of weight that I can put in the bed of the truck? I need some rock, but not sure if I should have it delivered, or just pile it in.

Also, what is the largest tire that I can put on the standard 16" rim?

Thanks,

Rick

Max load specs are:
4x2 4.6L 1650LB
5.4L 1800LB
4x4 4.6L 1450LB
5.4L 1600LB

Someone else needs to respond on the tires. I still have the factory tires.

I had 2 scoops of dirt in my bed, up about 2 feet over the rails back to front, and believe it or not, the truck handled GREAT!... I think this was around a ton or so... not exactly sure tho...

I have the 5.4 with the HD tow option and 4x4... I knew that dirt was there, but the truck handled GREAT!... plenty of power and braking... very little sway around corners, well planted. Even backed it up over a curb to unload and had noeffort....

Overall, I am impressed with the load capacity of this rig...

I have a 2wd Lariat, 5.4 loaded w/tow package. I hauled a scoop and 1/4 of pea gravel. The guy said it was probably 2200 lbs.
It was definitely sagging bigtime, but performed well.
Steering was a little easier!
