Question 2001 Lightning Wheels

This is for you guys with the Lightning rims on your supercrew. What lugnuts are you using and if they are not the ones that come one the truck where did you get them from? Any help would be greatful.

I have the chance to get 2001 or 2000 lightning rims and can't decide what would look best on a Screw. I know what the 2000 looks like but if anybody has pics of 2001s then it would help greatly.

Question lightning wheels

Saw your post in a search of lightning wheels. Did you ever get any for your truck? What wheels did you go with? I've found a couple of places with good deals on either the 2000's or 2001 wheel styles. email me if you'd like their addresses. Do you happen to have any pics of either yours or another supercrew with either 2001 or 2000 lightning wheel? If so, could you send them to me or let me know where to look for them.

thanks

Hey Guys,

Finally got wheels and tires put on. Ordered lugnuts from www.oemfordparts.com (14mm Lightning). These new tire are huge. I can really tell a difference in teh way it sticks to the road. Will post pics as soon as I wash the thing (watering ban here in GA).

Went with the 01 wheels and the Falken tires. Had to go back and have them rebalanced. They had a newbe working and he forgot to put stick on weights in the inside of the rim. Also had to tell him what a unidirectional tire was he had them all going backwards.
Your truck is sweet. I'm pretty close, the bumper conversion is in the spring. Trying to nail down all the parts I need. I probably do the work myself and have someone paint the bumper. I want to use the Lightning upper and lower grilles but do you know of anywhere to get them at a reasonable price?

I have been getting great pricing at www.fordpartsonline.com

If you can get the part numbers, all you have to do is put them in and you will get instant pricing. Shipping costs have been reasonable; however, I have not ordered any large items.

I wanted to update mine with the '01 grilles, but Ford claims they have to sell you the entire grille surround with the top one and the lower grille costs just as much as the top one. Think I might eventually install speed grilles.

Bet the wheels/ tires look great!!! I still like my tires - 30K+ miles and they still look good - great traction. Just can't keep the nails out of them!!

If you get ready after the new year to sell your grille inserts then let me know (tmcadams@lucent.com). I would be intrested in buying them.
The tires are great but they had a youg kid putting them on at the Firestone place and I was helping him. Well I didn't pay attention when he was balancing them. He just put weights on the inside of the tire and didn't put any weight on the inside of the wheel (stick on) for the outside weight. Jumps like a rabbitt between 75-80 got to go back and have all balance again.

I'll let you know about the grilles - however, I think the speed grilles go directly over the factory ones.

So Cal SC - Thanks for the compliments. Front end came from dealer before I took delivery. I set up everything and before I drove it off the lot, everything was installed. Cost was around $1200 for everything. Drove it home and put on the L wheels and tires that I had in my garage for 2 weeks (won from eBay). Yours looks great too!! Kinda wish I had waited for the 01 wheels. I like the chromes on the black.

Question LightningCrew!!!

If you have thoughts of getting some new 01 lightning wheels for your truck let me know what you'd like for yours. I'm looking for some for Supercrew and prefer the 00 style. Perhaps we could strike a deal. email me if you like
mmclaug2@san.rr.com
I'll let you know what deals i've found so far
