Cool 2002 Screw

I'm a new member and I have to say that I have found all of the forums and discussions helpful in making my purchase decision.

Visited dealer today and test-drove 2001 Screw Lariat. This is a big step up from my 95 Ranger. Let my wife drive, and while she was a bit intimidated at first, really liked driving the truck!

Went back to dealer after a leisurely drive, and they will fax me a price with fees on Monday for the 2002. They are at $200 over invoice right now, but I'm still working on invoice price at most.

Here's what I'm ordering:

Silver 4X4 XLT 5.4L
Dark Graphite Interior
Cloth Captain's Chairs
Limited Slip Rear Differential
Sliding Rear Window
Upgraded All-Terrain Tires
Pickup Bed Extender
Class III Towing package

Invoice: 29,291 MSRP: 33,245

Here's the real extras:

AirForce One Cold Air Intake
Gibson Supertruck Exhaust
Line-X Bedliner
Pace Edwards Retractable Tonneau
Lightning Taillights (Guess I am a couple months late on this one!)
Tec-Bar Cab Steps
Hellwig Rear Anti-Sway Bar
Mother's Wax System all the way

I've got about 7 weeks to wait for delivery, but can't wait to call this baby mine!

This site has been a great source for helping me shop!

mindbent,

you might evaluate whether you'd like to get the 17 inch wheels. i wish i had them on my s-crew! the 17 inchers just look better and fill out the wheel wells better. my two cents...

TroyK,

I agree about the 17" wheels...they do look much better! I've got the 265/75-15s on my Ranger and this combination fills the wheel wells nicely.

I had a hard time, though, with the price of the Off Road Package ($995) which was required to configure the truck with 17" wheels. I am considering a good set of aftermarket wheels in the future, and can then recalibrate for the tire size difference.

I just ordered a 2002 Lariat on the 17th. I don't have a build date yet. Is that seven weeks pretty accurate? I'm hoping for end of Sept beginning of Oct. Also if anyone is interested, I will have new 17 inch wheels available when I take delivery. I already have 20 inch Lightning replicas ready to put on.

Lightning Replicas

Hey stewscrew, where did you find the 20" replicas. Are the chrome or silver. If you don't mind, how much are they? I'm looking at getting a Screw real soon.

f150rebuilder,

I got the 20" replicas from www.classicwheelworkz.com I think their ad in Truckin' is under Classic Motorsports. Mine are silver because my truck on order is two tone Bright Red/Silver. Web site shows cost of $259 ea + ship but they are currently honoring their print ad price of $229 ea +ship. Hope this helps.

Ordered my 2002 SuperCrew today! Was able to get for $100 over invoice. Dealership is saying 7 weeks approximate delivery.

Started ordering my aftermarket stuff today. Was able to get Lightning Tails from Mr.Taillight for $175. Still trying to find a local Aero-Tec dealer to purchase Tec-Bar steps. If anyone knows of one in MD, let me know.

I have one question about the Gibson SuperTruck exhaust. Is it that much louder than stock, and is there a drone in the cab at highway speed? If too much sound, I will probably go with the dual rear exit exhaust.

Thanks!
