Dropped that A$$!!!!
Had the chance this weekend to install drop shackles on the back end of my Screw. What a difference!!!! Looking at it, the average joe would probably not be able to tell a difference, but I sure can, especially when I try to put something in the bed. I don't feel like I am trying to lift something in the back of a 4 X 4. Vision is a little better out of the rearview mirror, too. I used Western Chassis' adjustable drop shackles - was not too difficult. Had two problems: 1) The center hub of one shackle was a little too long and would not fit into the frame bracket - nothing a recip. saw couldn't cure. 2) Followed the directions and installed the passenger side. Got to the driver's side, unscrewed the bottom hanger bolt, and BOOM!!! The spring still had tension on it and slammed into the bottom of the bed. Unfortunately it was hard enough to put a ding in the bed and cracked the paint. Luckily I have not put in the Line-X yet, so that should cover it up.
One good cleanup and I will be ready for the meet in Atlanta this weekend!!!

Just installed the same rear shackles that you did to your SuperCrew. Did you notice any vibration from the rear after the install? I seem to be getting a vibration or whirling sound when I hit 60-75 mph range.
thanks

Vibration AFTER Shackles
Gentlemen, I had just posted something about this very situation
last week. When you install the shackles, it changes your drive shaft angle about 2 degrees. This caused me a harmonic humming in the cab and a very slight vibration between 40-60 Mph. I had every intention of re shimming the rear end to correct it, however within two weeks it was gone. It just has to wera in the universal joints to a newer angle. Give it time, It will PROBABLY go away.
